A Chearful Collection re-discovers an array of wonderfully tuneful and accessible sonatas and keyboard by Thomas Arne, composer of Rule, Britannia!. Complemented by music by his contemporaries including Handel, Oswald, Abel and JC Bach, Passacaglia offers a tantalising glimpse into the musical world of London's famous Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens.
