www.passacaglia.com was designed to be accessible to users of all types of computers, with a wide range of internet browser software. However, there may be some combinations of computer and browser which cause pages to be displayed incorrectly. If this affects you, please accept our apologies! We would welcome screenshots or descriptions of any problems via email, and we'll attempt to eradicate them.
However, best results will probably be achieved by using the following computer/browser combinations: Safari 1.0 or Internet Explorer 5.2 running on OS 10.2 or later Internet Explorer 5.1 running on OS 9.2.2
Internet Explorer 6 running on Windows 98 or later
All the audio clips on this site are in mp3 format, and most modern computers have the software necessary to listen to them pre-installed. However, if clicking on a link leads to a page of nonsense text, or nothing happens, it may be set up incorrectly. In this situation the best course of action is to right-click (or ctrl-click, if you have a single-button mouse) on the link and choose 'Save Link to Disk', 'Save Target As...' or similar:

Once you've downloaded the file you can then open it directly in an mp3 player application. There are many available, but perhaps the most widely-used are Apple's Quicktime Player and Microsoft's Windows Media Player. However, Quicktime Player is probably the best choice as it's compatible with the widest range of file formats, and version 6.3 or later will let you view Passacaglia's mp4 video clips as well. For their relatively small file sizes these offer the very highest video and audio quality of all current internet video formats. If you still encounter problems please do drop us a line and we'll do our best to help you. In case your computer just can't handle Quicktime Player, or you're simply fed up of trying to persuade it to, we can supply the audio clips on CD - contact us if this would be better for you.
